The Magic of Fresh Air

So we all know that 2 year olds have some attitude and that 3 is even worse, well maybe you didn’t know that but it’s true! At 3 they want to do everything thing themselves and well often times they can’t and then it’s a battle of wills.

Adella is no different she is only 2.5 but has always been ahead in development. She currently has the vocabulary of a 4 year old and uses 7 to 10 word sentences regularly. She is a handful to say the least and has a very strong opinion about everything that goes on during our day!

So we have been butting heads the last month or so, she has just been a bear to deal with. Saying “no” to everything and blatantly doing the opposite of what you ask her do. It has been awful then add in the almost 1 year old who learned how to throw a tantrum and is teething and my day has me wanting to switch from coffee to wine far before noon! I don’t, but oh man do I want to.

The Magic of Fresh Air

The last few days we have finally had normal spring weather, instead of snow and ice in the middle of April. It has been beautiful and 55 to 65 and sunny! We have spent hours at the park every day, and then more outside time at home! We have raked leaves away from the fence line and picked up way too many sticks.

I even got Adella to hold a worm which was hilarious! Delta loved it and I’m positive she would have ate it if I let her! Ha Ha. Anyway, the attitude change has been incredible! When I tell Adella something she says “ok mommy”, she has been more helpful and just over all happier!

Going outside and getting some fresh air can do so many things to help your day as a parents. Being a SAHM leaves me with lots of time to fill. Getting outside not only kills some time, but it can work wonders when you have a cranky kids. Just letting them run and be free burns off some energy, relieves stress, and it is calming. Not to mention it is relaxing for you too. Get some vitamin D and enjoy those warm sun rays.

Fresh air sure does wonders

I knew she needed some fresh air and Luke and I had talked about the change we would hope to see in her once the weather got nice. I will be honest I wasn’t sure if it would really make that much of a difference but in just 3 days she is back to the happy kid I knew she was.

She did ask to watch a movie this morning which I was happy to do so I could work on my blog and do dishes, plus it’s still dropping down to the high 30’s at night so it takes some time to warm up! But still she has been just amazing this morning!

I can’t stress enough how much of a difference it has been, yesterday I didn’t get upset or stressed out once! With an 11 month old and a 2.5 year old that is a big deal! I 100% enjoyed my day, I had fun and got housework done and the girls played great together! It was a dream day! Of course I know everyday won’t be like that but if I can have one day a week like yesterday my stress level would drop drastically!

Go Screen free

Seriously try it! Shut off the TV, take away electronics and go outside! To a park, the backyard, on a walk, just get some fresh air! I hope it has the same effect on your kids as it did on mine! Not to mention the benefits will be great for you too.

YES! I take my two year old daughter outside every. single. morning.
If we don’t her attitude is completely cranky and she gets more impatient way faster. Humans need sun and fresh air, even the tiniest of humans!

We’ve started having breakfast outside with the nice weather! Getting our morning dose of vitamin D!

  2. Totally agree! Currently I live in Poland, where the weather is simply diverse 😉 So I use every single opportunity to go out. Spring and early summer give the most of possibilities (however we go out obviously when it’s snowy as well). My Baby sleeps much better than after a “home day”.

Yes the sleep is so nice, if it wasn’t so humid I would try nap outside! We are going to get our tent set up to try a camping night in the yard before a real camping trip so I will see how sleeping outside goes.

My 4 yr old is the same way if he doesn’t get outside. Kids are something else at times

Cabin fever was so hard this winter. My 2 year old cried every time it snowed.

Forget the kids… this mama needs constant ourdoor time. But really, the longer my kids stay inside, the more they bicker and drive me nuts. Then I drive them nuts and then my husband goes nuts. Its a terrible indoor cycle. Aside from just needing air, the vitamin d is a total plusa

Yes! This mom needs outside time too! I can’t wait to get our garden planted! It’s just so relaxing in the sun shine and breeze.

  5. I can’t wait for us to have a warmer weather here in New York. It’s really hard not to let him watch TV while I’m busy cooking.

  6. I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes I just need to sit outside and relax.
